About pacific artists' studio

introducing Kim & Teri, the faces behind the pacific artists' studio

Teri Zaccaro and Kim Hughes never planned on becoming artists. They both enjoyed long careers in business, starting and acquiring companies, then growing and often selling them. They met while living in a beach community in Southern California when they decided to take a mosaic class. They developed a friendship and passion for art that is ongoing. Pacific Artists' Studio (PAS) was established in California, where they focused on mosaic (including large commercial projects) and fused, carved, and etched glass.

Fast forward to the somewhat serpentine and serendipitous path that found them together again in Alabama, where Pacific Artists' Studio took on a new life, expanding beyond mosaic and glass. They began by working with mixed media (collage, scrap metal, plaster, etc.), moved into ceramics, and then into painting. Painting has become their primary focus, be it oil, acrylic, watercolor, wax, ink, or pastels. They often mix it all up and surprise themselves with the results.

Working on the premise that you can't have too much knowledge, they continue to teach and take classes and workshops wherever and whenever they look interesting.
